Pastor Greg Livingston

Greg has served in various pastoral and church leadership roles.  In addition to his decades of service at First Apostolic Church, prior ministry positions include leading the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ as Georgia State Youth President and establishing Greater Hope Ministries of Rome. In addition to serving as senior pastor, Greg is Vice President of Information Technology at Shaw Industries, Inc.  He holds a Bachelor of Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Auburn University.


Dr. Ricki Livingston

Ricki has been active in ministry since 1989.  In 2011, along with Greg and their sons, Alex and Connor, she established Greater Hope Ministries of Rome.  Most recently, she worked to launch a homeschooling initiative in Mityana, Uganda, Africa.  She serves on the board of trustees for Miracle House Ministries in Uganda.  In addition to her ministry, Ricki works as Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and M.B.A. from Berry College, Master of Science in Accounting from University of Connecticut and a Doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on accounting behavioral ethics from Georgia State University.

Founding Bishop

On October 25, 1973, Bishop Gary Livingston, Sis. Brenda Livingston and their son, Greg, established First Apostolic Church of Rome near Mount Alto in Rome, Georgia.  In 1978, the church purchased property and built the sanctuary at 3213 Cave Spring Road.  The Family Life Center was added in 2003.  In 2017, after 43 years as senior pastor, Bro. Livingston transitioned to the role of Bishop.

In addition to the church ministry, Bro. Livingston served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968.  He then worked a career in the finance industry and insurance business, winning the award as top regional sales agent over multiple years.  He retired from the insurance business in 2005.


Sis. Brenda Livingston
In addition to serving as Pastor's Wife, Sis. Livingston worked full-time in the banking industry.  After attending school in Atlanta, she worked 44 years in various positions. She served her final 10 years as Vice-President and Branch Manager of First National Bank of Polk County.


Through a bi-vocational ministry model, the Livingstons fostered successful church growth, bringing numerous people to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
